Performance
Testing is performed Monday through Sunday
Typically completed within 4 hours after the specimen
arrives at the testing site.
Specimen Requirement
0.5 mL of serum or plasma is required for testing.
Useful For
Monitoring selected patients receiving vancomycin therapy

Additional Specimen Collection Information
Collect blood in a lithium heparin green-top or red-top tube.
Serum and plasma gel tubes are not acceptable. Peak specimens
are collected 2 hours after I.V. injection. Serum or plasma should
be separated from contact with cells within 2 hours of collection.
Serum or plasma should be stored be refrigerated if assay is
not completed within 8 hours.
