Additional Specimen Collection Information
Collect a random urine specimen in a plastic container. No
preservative required. Label the specimen appropriately with two
identifiers, patient name and another identifier, (patient ID
number, DOB, etc.) include date and time of collection. Store the
urine specimen refrigerated and transport to the lab within 48
hours.
Labs submitting specimens should aliquot 10 mL and send
in a plastic transport tube. Label the tube with patient name and
two identifiers (patient ID number, DOB, etc.). Store the urine
specimen refrigerated and transport to the lab within 48 hours.
