Specimen Requirement

Specimen Type: Worm
Collection Instructions: Parasite: Immerse parasite in 5 - 10 mL of 70-80% ethanol in a clean container with tight fitting lid.
Temperature and Stability: Room temperature (35°C).
Unacceptable Conditions: Stool, unpreserved specimens, specimens in preservative other than ethanol
Expected Results: Parasite identification, Submitted specimen not a worm/parasite, Submitted worm is not a human parasite.
Shipping Instructions
Wrap specimen container in absorbent material and place in a biohazard bag. Seal the bag and place into the mailer along with a completed Test Request Form. Transport specimen at room temperature.
