Specimen Requirement

0.5 mL urine is required.

Collect a 24 hour urine specimen in a sterile container. No preservative is required. Keep the specimen chilled during the collection period. Label the specimen appropriately with two identifiers, patient name and another identifier, (patient ID number, DOB, etc.) include specimen source, date and time of
collection. Record the collection time period on the label and specimen container. Store the urine specimen refrigerated and transport to the lab within 48 hours.
