Additional Specimen Collection Information

Specimens not meeting the above storage criteria may be rejected.
Microscopic exam of urine sediment is performed under the following criteria:
- Clarity is cloudy or turbid
- Positive for blood
- Protein ≥30 mg/dL
- Nitrite positive
- Leukocyte esterase positive
A Urine Culture is performed under the following criteria:
- WBC >5/hpf
- Moderate bacteria
- Nitrite positive
