Hepatitis A Antibody, IgM: Chemiluminescent μ-Capture test principle; Roche cobas Pro
Hepatitis C Virus (Anti-HCV) Antibody: Chemiluminescent sandwich principle: Roche cobas Pro
Hepatis B Surface Antigen (HBsAg): Electrochemiluminescence sandwich principle: Roche cobas Pro
Hepatitis B Core Antibody, IgM: Chemiluminescent μ‑Capture test principle; Roche cobas Pro
Performance
Testing is performed 7 days a week Monday through Sunday. Routine specimen requests are completed the same day upon arrival to the lab. STAT specimen requests are completed within 4 hours of receipt.
Specimen Requirements
- Serum is the specimen of choice. Gel tubes are acceptable.
- Lithium heparin plasma and EDTA plasma are also acceptable specimen types.
- Specimen Volume: 2 mls of serum or plasma
- Stability:
- Hepatitis A Antibody, IgM: stable for 7 days at 15-25°C, 14 days at 2-8°C, and 3 months at -20°C.
- Hepatitis C Virus (Anti-HCV) Antibody: stable for 3 days at 20-25°C, 21 days at 2-8°C, and 3 months at -20°C.
- Hepatis B Surface Antigen (HBsAg): stable for 6 days at 20-25°C, 14 days at 2-8°C, and 6 months at -20°C.
- Hepatitis B Core Antibody, IgM: stable for 7 days at 2-8°C, and 3 months at -20°C.
