Red (No Additive)
SST (Serum Separator)

Collection Information: 

Collect 3.0 mL to 7.0 mL of blood in a red serum or gold serum separator tube (SST). 

Transport Information: 

Transport 1.5 mL serum

Minimum Sample Volume: 

0.4 mL of serum (approximately 1.0 mL of whole blood depending on a normal patient's hematocrit)

Unacceptable Conditions: 

Specimens collected in EDTA tubes or Green top (heparin) tubes.
