Specimen Requirements

Specimen must be refrigerated and arrive within 72 hours of collection.  Specimen may be stored at 2-8 degrees for up to 7 days.  Preserved specimens are not acceptable for testing.

 

1. Submit 1 mL of freshly passed stool in a screw-capped, sterile container. (Do not contaminate stool specimen with urine.)
2. Maintain sterility and forward promptly.
3. Indicate specimen source on specimen container and in computer.
