Plasma from Lavender tubes is acceptable but will not route in the Laboratory Information System (Sunquest).

 

Transport Information: 

1.0 mL blood/0.4 mL serum

 

Minimum Sample Volume: 

0.4 mL blood/0.07 serum

 

Remarks: 

Collect peak blood levels at 3 hours after the last dose; collect trough blood levels just before the next dose is given. A Phenobarbital Level is included in the Primidone Test Order. Phenobarbital is a Metabolite of Primidone.
