Sodium: Ion Selective Electrode
Potassium: Ion Specific Electrode
Chloride: ion Selective Electrode
CO2: Enzymatic

Testing is performed Monday through Sunday.

Routine orders: Typically completed within 4 hours after the specimen arrives at the laboratory.

STAT: Typically completed within 30 minutes after the specimen arrives at the testing site.

Lithium heparin plasma (Green) or serum (Red/Gold): 500 uL.

It is recommended that the serum or plasma be separated from contact with cells within 2 hours from time of collection.

Sodium: 136-145 mmol/L
Critical Values: Low: <120 mmol/L High: >160 mmol/L

Potassium: 3.5-5.1 mmol/L
Critical Values: Low: <3.0 mmol/L High: >6.0 mmol/L

Chloride: 98-107 mmol/L

CO₂: 22-29 mmol/L
Critical Values: Low: <10 mmol/L High: >40 mmol/L
