Turbidimetry

Specimen Requirements

Container/Tube:

Preferred: Gold-top serum gel tube or plain, red top tube

Specimen Volume:  0.5 mL of serum

Stability:  Samples may be stored at 2-8°C for up to 3 days, but for prolonged storage they

                  should be kept frozen at -20°C or below for up to 3 months.  Do not freeze and 

                  thaw serum more than once.

Collection Instructions: Specimen should be allowed to completely clot before centrifugation.
