Specimen Requirement

1 mL of serum required.

Additional Specimen Collection Information

Collect blood in a red-top or serum gel (SST) tube. Serum
should be separated from contact with the cells within 2 hours of
collection. Specimens not centrifuged within 4 hours of collection
may be rejected. Refrigerate the specimen if unable to assay within
8 hours of collection. If samples are stored from more than 48
hours they should be frozen at -15 to – 20 C. Samples with >3+
lipemia will be rejected.

0 – <5 months: 100-334 mg/dL

5 – <9 months: 164-588 mg/dL

9 – <15 months: 246-904 mg/dL

15 – <24 months: 313-1170 mg/dL

2 – <4 years: 295-1156 mg/dL

4 – <7 years: 386-1470 mg/dL

7 – <10 years: 462-1682 mg/dL

10 – <13 years: 503-1719 mg/dL

Performance

Testing is performed Monday through Sunday.

Routine: Typically 4 hours after the specimen arrives at testing
site.

Expedite/STAT: Typically 1 hour after the specimen arrives at
testing site.
